This exhibition highlights the important role of many Jewish artists and authors in the world of comics by means of 230 works and documents: original drawings, archives…
It describes the evolution of these comic strips, from the problems the New York Jewish artists encountered up to the creation of the superheroes and the choices that were made as a consequence of the Holocaust.
Authors reconstruct stories linked to the Holocaust, such as Art Spiegelman in 'Maus'. During the 90s Giardino looks into the fate of the European Jews; Zentner and Pellejero introduce the figure of the Golem, in the context of the Jewish immigration in Argentina, and Sfar deals with the Jewish tradition and history in 'Le Petit Monde du golem' or 'The Rabbi's Cat'.

The exhibition offers a modern outlook on an exceptional creator.

These four authors, Guido Crepas, Paul Cuvelier, Jean-Claude Forest and Guy Peellaert - were inspired by painting, animated films, cinema, music, literature and photography. Their work represents the 60s, a time with many changes.
