Our first public parks emerged during the 19th century. They were originally simple paths planted with trees called “promenades”, which developed into green spaces in the middle of the city. City parks are often English style (round forms, groups of trees and ponds) where you can relax or practice sports such as canoeing, archery, biking, etc...
