FOLON FOUNDATION (LA HULPE)

FOLON FOUNDATION
© OPT / J.L. Flemal
Created and thought out by Jean-Michel Folon in the Ferme du Château de la Hulpe, the Folon Foundation presents more than forty years of creation, in a lively and original scenery. The artist opens his life's book here… Throughout the pages, the visitor discovers the multiple aspects of his art and his universe among the 300 exhibited works: aquarelles, screen prints, etchings, posters, objects, church-windows, sculptures… Music, films, optical effects animate an interactive trail, open to a large public.

A space for temporary exhibitions will unveil other aspects of Jean-Michel Folon's works, as well as the creations of modern or contemporary artists.

CHURCH OF SAINT-ETIENNE (WAHA)

CHURCH OF SAINT-ETIENNE
© Maison du Tourisme du Pays de Marche & Nassogne - infotourisme@marche.be
This remarkable building dates from 1050 is surrounded by an ancient cemetery and has an age-old lime tree in front. This is the oldest of all Roman churches in Belgium and the only church to have preserved its dedicatory stone commemorating the consecration of the church on June 20th 1050. It houses the commemorative stone with the Perpetual Edict and armorial bearings of Philippe II, as well as the blazons of Luxemburg and the city. Church windows, realised by Jean-Michel Folon, remind of the martyr of Saint-Etienne, patron of the parish. An audiovisual presentation shows the testimony of the artist on the manufacturing of church windows, as well as some commentaries on the major pieces of the church's heritage.

THE FONTAINE AUX POISSONS (FISH FOUNTAIN) (NEUFCHATEAU)

The city of Neufchâteau acquired the "Fontaine aux Poissons", a work of the artist Jean-Michel Folon.

This is a bronze statue, signed by the artists, of 1m75 high representing a man who stares at the horizon and holds ten fish spitting out water in his hands.
The city has chosen to put the statue in the magnificent setting of the Vallée du Lac (lake valley), near the Klepper mill. From end October 2008 onwards, the "Fontaine aux Poissons" will be shown in the middle of the botanical garden of the Klepper mill.
