Every year a swarm of lovers of science-fiction, thrillers and so many other genres by the most visionary directors gather here for two weeks.

Spectators just sit back and enjoy screenings of up to 150 films, most of which are premieres.

At a time when DVDs are released before films come out in cinemas and when almost everything is available in its pirated version on the Internet, where the films we all know are often blockbusters of major cinema productions, Bifff aims to present an oasis where cinema-lovers can quench their thirst for "good-quality" films that scare the wits out of you.

It's a real opportunity for discovering great horror films, science fiction and thrillers.

No doubt about it when you look at last year's programme: the organisers have a sharp eye.

Judge for yourselves: Let the Right one In, The Last House on the Left, Rec, Frontières, Dog Soldiers, The Butterfly Effect, Cube, Dark City, Ringu, Dark Water were awarded prizes by Bifff.
