Morlanwelz Carnival

The Feureu is one of the most beautiful carnivals of gilles and peasants in the region. On the Sunday morning following Mardi Gras, the associations gather on the Grande Place and form a magnificent rondo. For two days the city is swarming with celebrations. The peak of the Feureu carnival takes place on Monday evening at Place Albert Ier, where the groups form an enormous rondo around a stake. The fire is lit at the centre of the square, while magnificent fireworks light up the evening.
