The tour starts at the Abbey of Villers, one of the largest Cistercian monasteries in Europe. The visitor can discover the hostelry that was used as a brewery from the 16th century.
A few miles from Villers, La Tourelle, you can visit the cheese farm of Ways (Genappe). There you can taste the beer of Lothier with the local speciality of Genappe, the Lothier Tart.
In the heart of Louvain-la-Neuve the micro-brewery of Brasse-Temps produces three beers:
" Cuvée des Trolls ", " l'Embrasse-Temps " and a so-called white beer.
A stone's throw away, you can visit the 65-hectare paradise, the Domaine provincial du Bois des Rêves in Ottignies.

ABBEY OF VILLERS-LA-VILLE (VILLERS-LA-VILLE) © Zeppeline.be The Cistercian Abbey of Villers-la-Ville, which is now in ruins, was founded in 1146 under the impetus of Saint Bernard. This is one of the historical and sightseeing highlights of Wallonia. The building itself is a perfect example of Cistercian architecture. It has all the unadorned simplicity and the standard layout of the monasteries of that particular order. The abbey has a long history. Eight centuries have marked this monument whose main interest lies no doubt in the diversity of architectural styles which are difficult to find in such perfect harmony in the same place. The complex was usually built in the Romanesque style (in particular, a few buildings such as the hôtellerie and the mill), while the other buildings were fashioned in all the splendour of the Gothic style. BREWERY OF ECAUSSINES (ECAUSSINNES) © Fotostudio "Yves", Wieze (Alost). In 1999 Hugues and Isabel Van Poucke decide to build an artisan brewery in the castle-farm they so tastefully renovated. The farm of Restaumont belonged to many big families and to the Comédie Française. A large part of the brewery was found back in the Czech Republic. DOMAIN OF THE CASTLE OF SOLVAY (LA HULPE) © Domaine Solvay The Marquis of Béthune built the chateau of that name in 1842 in the style of a Loire chateau. It was donated to the State by its owner, Ernest-John Solvay.
