Sinds de opening van de luxueuze Old England winkels aan het einde van de 19de eeuw, verwierven ze een sterke reputatie dankzij hun aparte gebouw. Terwijl de ingang een Art Nouveaustempel draagt, past de rest van het gebouw perfect binnen het neoklassieke geheel van het Koningsplein. Sinds juni 2000 is het MIM gehuisvest in dit architecturaal juweeltje. Voor de buitengewone collecties van het museum springen in het oog. Wanneer u het museum binnenkomt, vertrekt u meteen op een wereldreis doorheen de muziek, met meer dan 1150 meesterstukken.
Het MIM is een plaats waar u de muziek kunt beleven. Via hoofdtelefoons kunt u luisteren naar de melodieën van de tentoongestelde instrumenten.

Ticket sale ends 30 minutes before closing time.
Guided tours on request for groups (FR, NL, EN, DE).

It is possible to visit the MIM according to a precise theme. You can follow our African and Russian trail, or the one dedicated to Mozart (Free of charge for the visitors of the museum).

Free entrance: every 1st Wednesday of the month from 1p.m.
Free of charge for children under 13 years of age (individual), families, students in musicology and the Conservatoire, teachers.
Free access to the library-shop and the restaurant.
