Nestled in the hollow of a smallish valley surrounded by 4 hills, Celles has very ancient origins and was at the height of its renown in 669 with the arrival of the monk Hadelin. The Saint-Hadelin church is a true masterpiece of Romanesque art. The Saint-Hadelin Hermitage was erected on the hill dominating the church. At two kilometres from the village you can admire the Feudal Castle of Vêves. The extremely typical houses in rubble stone and with apertures in carving stone are proofs of a very good state of conservation and good taste.
