The Château d'Irchonwelz today houses the Brasserie des Géants brewery. Long part of a working farm, it is often forgotten that this structure standing in the open countryside is, in fact, the old fortified castel of Irchonwelz. The main Seigneury of Irchonwelz belonged to the Trazegnies until 1721. The asymmetrical layout of the 13th century enceinte encompassed an enormous area in which several buildings came to be erected. This rough stone wall varies between 1.5 and 2m thick. What remains of it is 8.5 metres high. It appears not to have any murder holes and may have been crenulated. There are piers at intervals along it.
