The belfry in Thuin, located on the Place Albert Ier, is the remaining tower of a church that was destructed in 1811 in order to create space for the square. The construction of this tower -which from the beginning served as a belfry- was decided by the town and the chapter in 1639. It was the capitular as well as the communal tower of the Collegiate church Saint-Théodard. The belfry belongs to the Unesco World Heritage. Trilingual panels, a film, cameras, … relate to you the history of Thuin and its belfry. To help you during your ascent, an audio guide will explain to you the mechanism of the clock, the bells, the carillon… At the top, 4 niches unveil an unrestricted view on the valleys.
