Two natural parks overlook the Tournaisis :
Both the undulating " Pays des Collines " and the Plains of the Schelde, these natural parks have conserved their original natural heritage and have developed a country tourism lined by tours abounding in country products, breweries and country buildings.
Both Tourism Houses, the House of the "Pays des Collines " presents the story and the popular legends while downhill the flat landscapes of the swamps and hoods have inspired the show of the Plains of the Schelde House.
The Tournaisis, Heritage and Natural Parks.
The Tournaisis stretches out on a vast plain, adorned by three art cities : Tournai, Ath and Enghien.
In the shade of its cathedral with 5 steeples, the historical heart of Tournai makes it very tempting to visit its architectural heritage and its 7 museums, which will shower you with artistic treasures.
Recently restored, Ath, a small cosy town, plunges you into the heart of its folklore at the Maison des Géants (the Giants House) of Ath.
The very green city of Enghien proudly shows of the perspective and the geometry of its park.
Push the door of the Hospital " Notre-Dame à la Rose " and breathe, in a splendid architectural setting, the atmosphere of past and present medicine.
Approach the hundreds of birds in the flowered Paradisio Park ; discover the story of the Princes de Ligne who have moulded the property of the Château de Beloeil ; immerse you in the past in the restored Gallo-Roman village of Aubechies...
Let the treasures of the Tournaisis surprise you !
